Unfortunately, the team is being hindered from finishing the 3.1 release due to a lot of work in our day-to-day jobs. We will make an effort trying to close the release sometime during this week, with a final release before or on 10th June.
In the meantime, here are a few interesting numbers:
The Bug Genie has been downloaded over 60.000 times since its release in 2003. Almost 1/3 of all downloads have happened within the last 12 months, with the monthly average since January, 2011 being over three times as high as the highest monthly average until that date. We are now averaging about 2500 monthly downloads – including test versions.
The Bug Genie has several thousand active installations.
The Bug Genie has about 300 website visitors every day – not including robots.
Since May, 2009, the forum has got over 2000 posts in over 500 topics. That’s about 2,7 posts per day.
The Bug Genie has 27 non-closed issues reported against its latest version.
This may not seem like an awful lot if you’re a big project – but for us, the increase in traffic and attention is a lot of fun, and also provides us with quite a challenge. Responding to emails, following up topics on the forums and around the web is becoming increasingly difficult. If you want to join in on the fun, please let us know. Developers, designers, documentors, testers and naysayers are all welcome!
Oh, and here is an image showing the increase in traffic since late last year 🙂
